Travel Clin is the first clinic of Travel Medicine in Curitiba and it is the only one in Paraná' State that is operated by members of International Society of Travel Medicine (ISTM). It is committed to the promotion of healthy and safe travel for the individual traveller and also for institutional groups. It also offers services of diagnostic evaluation of disease related to any journey, emission of certificates, evaluation of expatriates, evaluation of tourists in transit and others. Its main objective is to develop an exclusive work in this area, always guided by scientific and ethical principles.

      The Travel Medicine has, as its main focus, orientation of prophylactic measures, such as vaccines and drugs, in order to avoid health problems during journeys, no matter the destination.

      Yearly, there are more than 650 millions of international travellers. Nearly 50% of travellers present some kind of health problem in their trips, medical aid in foreign countries may be necessary, with many hospitalizations and sometimes life risk situation, which create expenses and disturb the journey. Most of these problems could be avoided if prophylactic measures provided by a specialist in the area had been taken. Unfortunately, the majority of travellers have no access to such medical aid, which could guarantee a safe journey.

      Although the Travel Medicine is broadly known for decades in Europe, North America and Australia, only in 1997 the first service was created in Brazil. By the end of 2004, Travel Clin started operating in Curitiba.
